Applying Information and Communication Technology for Disaster Mitigation in the Central American Isthmus

The project strives to connect data providers (including the scientific and technical community) with data users (local communities, water and sanitation operators, the general public) in order to mitigate the adverse effects of natural disasters. The project aims to identify and assess the performance of innovative ICT applications to contribute to the effective exchange of knowledge and information between data and information providers as well as users in vulnerable communities of Central America, with the ultimate goal of reducing the vulnerability of these communities to floods and droughts while drawing lessons to promote the replication of the experience in similar contexts.
