From 6 to 18 May 2021, 7amleh worked to document and respond to the digital rights violations occurring during the 2021 Israeli attacks on Gaza, on Palestinians in mixed cities in Israel, and forcible displacement of Palestinians in East Jerusalem.

The report shows increases in attacks on Palestinian digital rights and details the violations on various social media and technology platforms, including the spread of hate speech and incitement against Palestinians and Arabs in the Hebrew language.

Rather than talking about what the internet ‘can’ do, we can reflect on what it has done and use evidence to anticipate the future and adapt our policies. But doing so requires more sophisticated and holistic ways of measuring its impact.

APC is joining a group of organisations in sending letters to regional groups of states at the UN concerning the elections at the Human Rights Council, containing civil society recommendations for ensuring a competitive process and minimum standards for states that want to be elected to the HRC.
