Development of a Regulatory Framework Proposal for Community Networks in Francophone Countries in Africa (Cameroon)

What is the project about?

This project will first estimate and raise awareness about the potential of community networks for local development in selected francophone countries in Africa. Afterward, an in-depth analysis of the regulatory frameworks related to electronic communications will be conducted. Finally, a framework for the definition of statuses for community networks in francophone countries in Africa will be proposed, considering the whole path from equipment acquisition and homologation to the running of the community network. Since each country has its own regulatory framework, the proposal will be a set of guidelines that will be used for advocacy.
