The Disco-tech session at the Digital Rights Asia-Pacific Assembly (DRAPAC23) focused on supporting environmental sustainability and justice in Asia. We explore the participants' interventions to help develop a Feminist Principle of the Internet on the environment.
This year's RightsCon will be held from 5-8 June in Costa Rica and online, where APC will focus on the themes of gender and sexuality, climate and environmental justice and gender-responsive cybersecurity. In July 2019, 26 women from diverse backgrounds met together in Chiapas, Mexico for three days in a hackfeminist meeting on technology and affections to imagine a principle for a feminist internet that centred care for the body, the self and the land.
How are APC members improving their communities’ lives? Point of View's reports, research and campaigns have made meaningful contributions toward building and amplifying the voices of women and other marginalised genders and removing barriers to voice, speech and expression across India.
Between November 2019 and April 2020, the APC Women’s Rights Programme (WRP) held an evaluation of our work around movement building in the digital age. A total of 82 people participated in the survey and/or interviews conducted for the evaluation.
The evaluation sought feedback from feminist internet meeting participants, including around the impact of the convenings on participants’ movement work and activism, their evolving relationships with digital technologies, and challenges in taking this work forward.
