Sheena G. Magenya
Sheena is a feminist with over a decade years of civil society working experience in Namibia, South Africa and Kenya. She has a background in media and communications, and is interested in the opportunities that African women have to influence and effect change in social and political spaces, including online spaces. She is curious about technology and the internet, and passionate about an intersectional feminist approach to social justice. She holds a BA in Media Studies and Psychology from the University of Namibia, and a Masters in Creative Writing from the University of the Witwatersrand.
Purpose of position
The WRP communications and community engagement coordinator develops and implements the WRP communications plan, including the management of communications spaces and the production of communications outputs, in coordination with other staff and external service providers. The WRP communications and community engagement coordinator also plans and implements actions to ensure the programme's presence and participation in relevant community events, spaces and activities, contributing to advance WRP's strategic plan.
