APNIC (the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre) is the not-for-profit Regional Internet address Registry (RIR) for the Asia Pacific region. APNIC provides number resource allocation and registration services that support the global operation of the Internet. It is a not-for-profit, membership-based organization whose members include Internet Service Providers, National Internet Registries, and similar organizations. It is one of the five regional RIR's.
APNIC supported APC's participation in the Global Intermet Governance Forum in 2015 and 2016.
A total of 54 reports on NRIs are gathered in this year's Global Information Society Watch (GISWatch). These include 40 country reports from contexts as diverse as the United States, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Pakistan, the Republic of Korea and Colombia.
This book, written by former WGIG members and others who played key roles in the debates on the WGIG and WSIS, reflects on the WGIG’s procedural and substantive contributions to the evolving global internet governance dialogue and institutional ecosystem.
