Verónica Ferrari
Verónica is the global policy advocacy lead at the Association for Progressive Communications (APC). In this role, she leads APC's engagement and strategic advocacy efforts in key global digital policy processes, including UN cyber related processes and the UN Human Rights Council. Verónica also serves as APC's representative within the Freedom Online Coalition Advisory Network, where she is one of the co-Chairs.
Before joining APC, Verónica served as senior policy advisor at the Government Secretariat of Modernisation in Argentina. There, she led the work with the OECD on digital government, open government and innovation. In this capacity, Verónica represented Argentina at the OECD Public Governance Committee and coordinated gender-related initiatives at the G20 Digital Economy Task Force during the Argentinian Presidency in 2018.
Previously, Verónica has contributed to the Berkman Klein Center at Harvard University and the Center for Studies on Freedom of Expression and Access to Information (CELE). Additionally, she has served as a consultant, collaborating with various digital rights organisations across Latin America.
Verónica holds a bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires and a master's degree in Public Policy from the Central European University. Her professional focus centres on global digital policy governance, cybersecurity and gender.
Purpose of position
The Global Policy Advocacy Lead provides leadership and strategic direction to the policy advocacy strategy of APC’s Social and Environmental Justice programme (SEJ), and contributes to the development and implementation of APC’s global policy advocacy strategy. The Global Policy Advocacy Lead will lead APC's engagement and advance APC’s positions in key global digital policy processes in coordination with other APC programmes to strengthen APC’s overall policy advocacy work.
