Biography

Twahir Hussein Kassim has a passion for empowering learning through technology. He carries with him over 20 years’ experience in the ICT field spanning from development through to management. He was the brains behind the setup of the first e-learning centre for International Open University in the world. He coordinated the operations of the university across the East African Region through to Zambia.

Due to closure of learning institutions occasioned by COVID-19, he is currently assisting local schools in Kilifi to move their studies online. This has gotten him into training teachers and building an e-learning platform to facilitate the learning as well as a community network for schools. Over the past year, he has been responsible for getting broadband to a remote village in Kilifi County, located in rural Kenya. The availing of internet to school children within the village has seen a marked improvement in their performance at national exams. He is the founder of Dunia Moja Network and Lamuka Hub.
