Capacity and expertise in internet governance in Africa will take another step forward with the second annual African School on Internet Governance (AfriSIG). The school, which has received an overwhelming response – 650 applicants, of which 45 have been selected – will take place on 21-25 November 2014 in Mauritius.

APC’s Emilar Gandhi recently returned from the African Internet Governance Forum (IGF) in Abuja, Nigeria, where she co-organised a workshop on public access to information and communications technologies (ICTs). Emilar spoke to APCNews about what public access would look like in Africa.

At 10:26 UTC on November 29th, Syria’s international internet connectivity was shut down. APC strongly condemns this shut down, which threatens the safety and security of the Syrian people, and clearly violates international human rights law.
