Partnership for Higher Education in Africa (PHEA)
PHEA represents both a belief in the importance and viability of higher education in Africa and a mechanism to provide meaningful assistance to its renaissance. PHEA has been a partner of APC since 2007, with the emergence of the South Africa National Broadband Forum, a coalition working to reduce the price of broadband in the country, which PHEA is supporting.
Access to broadband is an imperative for the full expression of citizenship in today’s world. With affordable broadband, the enormous potential for socio-economic, cultural, and educational development in South Africa can be realised.
