Frederick Noronha, of APC member organisation BytesforAll, was crowned Outstanding Participant at the recent Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICTD) Community workshop in Auroville, India.
Frederick Noronha, of APC member organisation BytesforAll, was crowned Outstanding Participant at the recent Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICTD) Community workshop in Auroville, India.


He was one of seven nominees in the category and out of 130 votes, was the clear majority favourite. According to the ICTD Community, “the ‘outstanding participant’ award recognizes the member whose contributions have added the greatest value to the discussions, through quality queries, responses, experiences, referrals, advice, etc.”


Frederick Noronha is co-founder of BytesForAll, and a freelance journalist with a strong interest in ICT for development and free and open source software issues in India.


The visioning workshop, held 6-7 December, brought together over 100 participants from all over India to discuss emerging ICT for development issues and strategise future courses of action for the ICTD Community.
