Pakistan newspaper: how ICTs perpetrate violence against women

On April 3, Pakistan’s Express Tribune newspaper published an article, Virtual world, real dangers that summarises how ICTs are used in Pakistan to commit violence against women.

The article quotes Fariha Akhtar, a Take Back the Tech! campaigner and women rights activist who says that women shouldn’t respond to this threat by not using information and communications technology. Instead, women need to be careful and be aware about what, and how, they share information online. The article then gives a list of do’s and don’ts for women to stay safe online.
