This IGF is taking place when the effects of overlapping global crises such as the weakening of democracy, wars, and the worsening of the environmental situation and climate change are felt strongly but differently in different contexts. What does all this mean for internet governance?

Conversations about digital and environmental justice are not happening together in the way that is needed. In an effort to try and fill this gap, the Just Net Coalition, with APC and CETRI, organised a two-day event on October 2021 that brought together activists, experts and officials from the environmental, social and digital justice movements.

Starting on 6 October, we invite everyone to join us every Thursday on APC's social media channels (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram), where we will convene and connect academic and activist knowledge about how to use the internet and digital technologies to adapt to and combat climate change.
A campaign launched on Amazon Day seeks to prevent the financing of Brazilian news sites that are presented as journalistic, but which promote information disorder in the Legal Amazon region.
In July 2019, 26 women from diverse backgrounds met together in Chiapas, Mexico for three days in a hackfeminist meeting on technology and affections to imagine a principle for a feminist internet that centred care for the body, the self and the land.
Meet APC's board of directors, who were finally able to meet in person in Sitges, Spain, in June 2022 after a gap of two years. Each director shared insights about some of the most pressing issues they are facing in their respective contexts and local realities.
