The Indigenous Peoples Rights International (IPRI) is a legally registered, non-profit global Indigenous Peoples organization that works to protect Indigenous Peoples’ Rights, and unite and amplify the call for justice to victims of criminalization and impunity. In 2019, IPRI was established to lead and coordinate the Global Initiative to Address and Prevent Criminalization, Violence, and Impunity against Indigenous Peoples.

Two staunch indigenous activists and human rights advocates from the Philippines — former United Nations (UN) Special Rapporteur on the rights of indigenous peoples Victoria Tauli-Corpuz and UN’s Champions of the Earth Awardee Joan Carling — are the founding leaders of IPRI. Their vision: Indigenous Peoples are peacefully exercising their individual and collective rights in their traditional territories, especially their right to self-determination and to their lands, territories and resources, without threat of violence or criminalization.
