Damián Loreti is a lawyer and academic specializing in freedom of expression, access to information and media law. He holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Buenos Aires (1981-1986) and a PhD in Communication Science from the University Complutense de Madrid (summa cum laude) (2006). 

Since 1988, he has been a Professor teaching freedom of expression and access to information courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels (Tenured Professor in Media Law, School of Social Sciences, Universidad de Buenos Aires). He directs the Master’s Degree in Audiovisual and Communication Services at the University of Buenos Aires. He previously was Director of the Social Communications Degree (2002-2006) and Vice-dean of the School of Social Studies (2006-2010) of the University of Buenos Aires. Since 2012 he is Secretary to the Executive Board of the Center of Legal and Social Studies, Argentina. In 2015, he was appointed Vice-president of the World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters. Member of the Steering Committee of the IMLA (International Media Law Association (2005-2007).
