Digitising rural livelihoods based on local knowledge in indigenous communities: Building a connectivity-based platform enabling economic empowerment of women

What is the project about?

Gram Marg/BAIF and Janastu will enable meaningful utilisation of online and offline connectivity and help community networks to generate livelihoods in two indigenous tribal communities, Warli and Halekote, in Palghar, Maharashtra and Durgadahalli, Karnataka, respectively.

This joint proposal expands and extends to the next stage after the activities set aside by each of the organisations would be achieved as part of the pathfinder grant.

They focus on local knowledge creation and sharing, community radio and enabling digital and banking correspondents to work with the communities. Two important platforms that this project is building are:

1) A biodiversity platform

2) An e-commerce platform.
