The Disco-tech session at the Digital Rights Asia-Pacific Assembly (DRAPAC23) focused on supporting environmental sustainability and justice in Asia. We explore the participants' interventions to help develop a Feminist Principle of the Internet on the environment.
APC and partners are hosting their ninth Disco-tech event in conjunction with the 2019 IGF in Berlin, on 26 November. We invite you to join us for this peer-learning event about utilising the potential of ICTs in strategies to mitigate and adapt to the climate crisis.
With the aim of exploring internet shutdowns in the African region, the event brought to light stories of the shutdowns’ effects on human rights at individual, national and regional levels, and shared strategies and techniques to avert or lift them, including tech demos, policy ideas, advocacy strategies and litigation.
