Women's Rights Programme
The Association for Progressive Communications Women’s Rights Programme (APC WRP) has a long-term goal of ensuring that women and people of diverse sexualities and genders participate in, shape and co-create the internet and digital technologies that reflect and respond to their lived realities. APC WRP plays a vital role in bringing together people, organisations and communities, working to provide a feminist analytical framework of internet rights, and to locate women's and sexual rights agendas at the centre of debates around internet rights. It works through four interrelated strategies: knowledge building, capacity building, policy advocacy and movement building.
Our Voices, Our Futures is a global South-led consortium, comprising CREA, APC, UHAI -The East African Sexual Health and Rights Initiative and WO=MEN, complemented by strategic partner IM-Defensoras. GenderIT.org, a bilingual project of APC's Women's Rights Programme, is a feminist advocacy space that explores issues related to gender and information and communications technologies.
As a continuation of the previous work to deepen the EROTICS network in Asia, this two-year project will expand the network of sexual rights and digital rights activists from India, Sri Lanka and Nepal and include new partners in Bangladesh, as well as strengthening the network with partners in Malaysia and Indonesia.

In partnership with members and networks, APC’s Internet Rights programme advocates for the protection, promotion and respect of human rights at the national level through the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), a unique mechanism of the Human Rights Council involving a review of the human rights records of all UN member states.
All Women Count: Take Back the Tech! is a four-year project from 2017 to 2020 being coordinated by APC’s Women's Rights Programme under the All Women Count consortium. The consortium’s concern is violence against women, in particular violence experienced by women, girls and trans* people at risk.
This project aims to build awareness and collaborative action on internet policy and regulation among activists in the global South by securing human rights in internet policy and regulation in Africa, and integrating a feminist and gender justice agenda in internet governance debates and processes.
Building on a strong pre-existing coalition, this project will strengthen the participation of an already participating country (India, with active network member Point of View), and bring in new actors from two new countries: Sri Lanka, with Women and Media Collective, and Nepal, with LOOM.
