The Harambee project is designed to support increased capacity among both the project’s initiators and a range of Africa-based networks and communities to coordinate and facilitate the interactions of their respective constituencies.

APC Chris Nicol FLOSS Prize

The APC Chris Nicol FLOSS Prize recognises initiatives that are making it easy for people to start using free/libre and open source software (FLOSS). The prize is awarded to a person or group doing extraordinary work to make FLOSS accessible to ordinary computer users. The APC FLOSS Prize was established to honour Chris Nicol, a long time FLOSS advocate and activist who for many years worked with APC.

Wireless in Africa

During 2005 and 2006 APC implemented a “capacity building for community wireless connectivity in Africa” partnership project, the first of a proposed series of projects to address capacity building for wireless connectivity.
