La Lucha: The story of Lucha Castro and human rights in Mexico

Front Line Defenders announces the release of “La Lucha: The story of Lucha Castro and human rights in Mexico”, published by Verso Books.

La Lucha is the first in a series of nonfiction graphic novels from Front Line Defenders documenting the stories of human rights defenders at risk around the world.

La Lucha recounts the stories of Lucha Castro, some of her colleagues at her organization – Centro de Derechos Humanos de las Mujeres – in Chihuahua, and of other WHRDs who sacrificed their lives in the defense of women’s and human rights in their communities in Chihuahua and Juarez – consistently two of the most dangerous cities in the world for more than a decade.

Support Front Line Defenders with a donation of €20 or more and receive an author’s copy of La Lucha – before it is available at bookstores. As always, your contribution goes directly to the support of human rights defenders at risk.
