Global Information Society Watch
The purpose of this review was to look back over the past decade of country reports published in Global Information Society Watch (GISWatch) and attempt to identify trends in civil society perspectives on what needed to be done to create a people- centred information society.
APC, in collaboration with the Internet Policy Observatory, University of Pennsylvania, has commissioned a report that examines criminalisation of online expression in six Asian states. We welcome all to an informative discussion on the findings of the report, to be held in Kuala Lampur.
A total of 54 reports on NRIs are gathered in this year's Global Information Society Watch (GISWatch). These include 40 country reports from contexts as diverse as the United States, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Pakistan, the Republic of Korea and Colombia.

In this special edition of GISWatch, APC brings together analysis on the criminalisation of online expression from six Asian states: Cambodia, India, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan and Thailand.
Global Information Society Watch 2017 on National and Regional Internet Governance Forums will be launched in Geneva on 20 December 2017.
APC has taken initiative to compile two editions of Global Information Society Watch focused on National and Regional IGFs (NRIs). Participate in this survey to help us give voice and visibility to the stories of each NRI. Deadline is 18 September 2017.
The actions captured in this report reflect the energy, diversity and growth of the APC network. New members AlterMundi, from Argentina, Point of View, from India, Rhizomatica, from Mexico, Social Media Exchange (SMEX), from Lebanon, and Zenzeleni Networks, from South Africa, have added to the richness of the APC community and the breadth of our reach.
Does the internet make the realisation of economic, social and cultural rights (ESCRs) a stronger possibility, especially for women and gender nonconforming people? This is the question that the GenderIT.org edition on ESCRs and the internet seeks to answer.
The 46 country reports gathered here illustrate the link between the internet and economic, social and cultural rights (ESCRs). They are framed by 10 thematic reports, which deal with overarching concerns when it comes to ESCRs and the internet, and more specific issues that impact on our rights.
