Fernanda Monteiro

Fernanda was a factory worker when she meddled (yes, this is the actual verb) on a server once, first getting scolded for that, of course. Ever since their sysadmin realized that introducing her to GNU / Linux and the tao of FLOSS would be safer and ethically inducing, Fernanda has been working on tech support, implementation and administration with a huge interest on making Linux systems actually work, especially on low budget gadgets and quirky setups.
Even working a full decade in the corporate jungle she still thought that community is stronger than numbers and people-centered is the way to go, then dedicating another full decade to learn, share and reimagine technology together with many other transfeminist minds and hands for a collective care perspective,  and to repurpose working on tech itself.
