A journalist with a Master's degree in Social Communication from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Oona has been Instituto Nupef’s content coordinator since 2017. She was director of the Wikimedia Catalyst project in Brazil and executive director of the Instituto Overmundo, which sheltered the Overmundo culture collaborative portal, created in 2006. She has also worked for the Centre of Technology and Society of Fundação Getulio Vargas RJ and for the British Council in Brazil. She is a co-founder and a volunteer at Intervozes.
