Public Internet Registry (PIR)

Based in Reston, Virginia, Public Interest Registry is a not-for profit organisation created by the Internet Society (ISOC), originally to manage .org. In 2016, the Public Internet registry was one of the supporters of APC's African School on Internet Governance (AfriSIG).

AfriSIG, an initiative co-organised by APC and NEPAD, is a multistakeholder training initiative that aims to give Africans from diverse sectors and stakeholder groups the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to participate effectively in internet governance processes and debates.
