Ford Foundation

The Ford Foundation supports visionary leaders and organisations on the frontlines of social change worldwide. Its goals for more than half a century have been to strengthen democratic values, reduce poverty and injustice, promote international cooperation and advance human achievement. Its headquarters are in the US and it has regional offices in Africa, Asia and Latin America. 

With trends in donor funding shifting overwhelmingly towards project support and away from institutional support, APC is particularly appreciative of the programme support that the Ford Foundation provided from 1997 to 2002. The Ford Foundation also supported the APC Council Meeting in South Africa in 1997.

• General support and project support for institutional strengthening (2019-2020)

• Core support for internet rights and gender justice advocacy at international and regional levels, and core support for institutional strengthening (2017-2018)

• Support to research a feminist perspective on internet policy issues and build cross-movement collaboration with women’s rights groups in the global South (2016-2017)

• Mid-term evaluation of the outcomes resulting from the implementation of APC’s 2013-2016 Strategic Plan (2016)

• Local Action to Secure Internet Rights (LASIR) (2014-2015)

• EROTICS II: Support to strengthen advocacy work on internet governance and access to SRH and Rights (2012-2014)
