This letter is a response to Deutsche Welle's report on its internal investigation into accusations of antisemitism in its Arabic-language news department. The report also investigated DW Akademie partners and includes a number of defamatory accusations against Palestinian partner organisations.
From 6 to 18 May 2021, 7amleh worked to document and respond to the digital rights violations occurring during the 2021 Israeli attacks on Gaza, on Palestinians in mixed cities in Israel, and forcible displacement of Palestinians in East Jerusalem.
The report shows increases in attacks on Palestinian digital rights and details the violations on various social media and technology platforms, including the spread of hate speech and incitement against Palestinians and Arabs in the Hebrew language.
#Hashtag Palestine 2020 is 7amleh’s sixth annual review of key digital rights issues facing Palestinians living in the occupied Palestinian territory and Israel, drawing on events that took place from January through December 2020.
7amleh launched its annual report on Palestinian digital rights, entitled “#Hashtag Palestine 2020”. The report details violations that took place in 2020, and specifically during the coronavirus pandemic, by authorities, technology companies and the Palestinian society itself.

APC member organisation 7amleh – The Arab Center for the Advancement of Social Media received this year's award in the digital activism category for its outstanding work educating the Palestinian public and the world about Palestinian digital rights issues.
7amleh concluded the online version of the Palestine Forum for Digital Activism 2020 with the participation of a quarter million Palestinians, Arabs and internationals. The conference was adapted from an offline event with 1,000 participants to an online event in two weeks.
