Open letter to UN High Commissioner on Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein from 58 human rights organisations in advance of the panel discussion on “human rights and preventing and countering violent extremism” at the 31st session of the UN Human Rights Council, raising serious concerns regarding the potential impact of initiatives to counter and “prevent violent extremism” on the enjoyment of human rights and fundamental freedoms.
