APC, Derechos Digitales and Media Matters for Democracy welcome the opportunity to provide this submission on the human rights impacts of the introduction of digital technologies in the implementation of national social protection systems.
On 10 June 2019, the UN High Level Panel on Digital Cooperation's report was made public and the Secretary-General and members of the Panel held a briefing at the UN General Assembly. APC had the opportunity to participate in the briefing and made the following statement.

APC stands in solidarity with Dr. Wairagala Wakabi, Executive Director of the Uganda-based Collaboration on International ICT Policy for East and Southern Africa (CIPESA), who was detained and finally deported upon arrival at the International Airport in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
In response to a public consultation, APC joined Rhizomatica, the Internet Society, World Wide Web Foundation/Alliance for Affordable Internet, ARTICLE 19 Eastern Africa, Tunapanda Institute and Kenya ICT Action Network to present comments on Kenya's Revised National Broadband Strategy.
