APC welcomes the focus of the Special Rapporteur on the right to freedom of opinion and expression on the responsibilities of the information and communication technology (ICT) sector to protect and promote freedom of expression in the digital age, and the opportunity to contribute to this study.

The efforts of the Sudanese government to obstruct the engagement of civil society activists in a UN-led human rights review of the country is unacceptable and shows blatant contempt not just for human rights defenders in Sudan, but to human rights standards and the UN Human Rights Council.
