Civil society actors, women’s rights and sexual rights advocates have the capacity to confidently use the internet and ICTs, and engage critically in their development. This is a compendium of the highlights from APC's Annual Report for 2018.
Launched in 2017, Skin Stories is known for publishing first-person narratives by people with disabilities, to bust harmful myths and tell complex stories about disability based on lived experiences.
Last year, Uganda’s communications regulator commissioned a study to establish the status of access to and usage of ICT by persons with disabilities. In response to a call for comments, CIPESA made a submission to the commission which could help various government agencies to devise strategies.
The Internet Governance Forum kicks off on Monday, 12 November 2018, in Paris, France. On the evening of Sunday, 11 November, from 19:30 to 22:00, APC and Hivos/DDP will host the event Disco-tech Paris, under the theme, “Breaking through the walls of an inaccessible internet”.

The APC communications team has a new member: her name is Cathy Chen, born in Taiwan and Canadian by choice, but mostly a world traveller. She joined the APC staff in July as our new publications and multimedia coordinator. She defines herself as a "visual communication strategist" and has a strong interest in cultural diversity.
