Biography

Leila has worked for APC since 2014, as part of the communications team, where she contributes to strategically building the organisation's and networks's public profile. 

She is also a professor of communications and new media at Madrid's Carlos III University and regularly writes for several media, such as Global Voices, Al Jazeera English and Eldiario.es. She is the co-founder of a news portal on Syrian civil society, SyriaUntold, and recently published her first novel about the 2011 uprisings, Cuando la revolución termine.

 

Purpose of position

The media outreach lead contributes to srategically building APC’s public profile, having the media, APC members and partners as the main outreach and engagement audiences. Media outreach and social media are the primary strategies.
