This Atlas is a visual account of Africa’s endowment and use of water resources, revealed through 224 maps and 104 satellite images as well as some 500 graphics and hundreds of compelling photos.
The democratization of mobile telephony in Africa, its availability, ease of use and, above all, the extent to which it has been appropriated by the public, have made it a major success story. GBM Kenya is a non-profit grassroots NGO based in Kenya. Since 2007 GBM has integrated digital mapping and GIS into its monitoring and evaluations procedures. GBM’s GIS Lab in Kenya provides the capability to create/collect, edit, query, analyze and display geographic information in order to facilitate better tracking of GBM’s programs.
