ITU Telecom Africa Conference 2008

According to the organisers, “ITU TELECOM AFRICA 2008 is a major networking platform for Africa’s top ICT names to come together and focus on core issues relating to ICT expansion across the region.

APC submitted two papers to this event:

• The case for Open Access communications infrastructure in Africa: impact of international submarine cable infrastructure [SAT-3/WASC] in four African countries [word format]

• “Another instance where privatization trumped liberalization: The politics of telecommunications reform in South Africa – A ten-year retrospective” [not available freely due to copyright restrictions]
