Olga B. Koloko

Biography

Olga is a as freelance translator (English (UK, US) to French (FR, CA) and French to English) since 2005 who also works as a freelance digital security consultant/trainer as well as a woman human rights activist since 2013. She has trained several women as well as men from civil society organisations and companies on secure internet browsing tools and techniques, digital security threats and online security, mobile security, safe information transmission and encryption. She has also been a freelance translator (English to French and vice versa) for the past 12 years to date. She has translated several administrative documents, statements, books and websites for civil society organisations, enterprises and individuals. She works at APC as the French content editor on APC's websites. 

Before joining the APC's pool of consultants, she worked with:

  • PROTEGE QV as an ICT4D Volunteer from 2005 to 2016, where she was in charge of content production, translation of all administrative and project related documents, website and online social media manager. She did computer initiation and ICT4D appropriation training to several CSO members and over 1500 primary school pupils. She contributed in research on ICT, telecommunication and internet policies and advocacy. 

  • Karvan Finance (a financial counseling firm) from 2010 to 2013 as the communications officer and official translator.

She has also been involved in research and authoring. She is a contributing author in the Cameroon team for the GISWatch 2013 (Women's rights, gender and ICTs), a contributing chapter author of the publication "Public Access ICT across cultures: Diversifying participation in the network society". 

She holds a Master degree in International Relations specialised in International Communication and Public Action obtained at the International Relations Institute of Cameroon (IRIC) in Yaounde, Cameroon, 2013 and well as a Bachelor of Science (Bsc) in Political Science and Public Administration obtained at the University of Buea, Cameroon, 2008.

Olga is originally from Cameroon but currently lives in the USA.
