Last week stakeholders from across Latin America and the Caribbean met in Cordoba for the Sixth Regional Preparatory Meeting for the Internet Governance Forum (IGF). Although a multi-stakeholder forum, civil society was best represented, with only a handful of participants from the private sector and government.
Latin America debates internet governance: APC at the LAC IGF regional preparatory meeting
The Argentinian city of Córdoba hosted this year’s regional preparatory meeting for the Latin America and Caribbean Internet Governance Forum. APC was an organisers of the event with Lacnic, Ageia Densi, Internet Society, ICANN, NIC.br, CGI.br and Google, and also provided comprehensive news coverage.

The next LAC Internet Governance Forum will be held in Argentina from 27-29 of August. In preparation for the event, the organisers launched a public survey to define and structure the agenda.

Call for proposals to host the fifth regional IGF in Latin America and the Caribbean
Together with its partners, APC is pleased to announce the fifth regional preparatory meeting in LAC for the Internet Governance Forum (IGF), to be held in late 2012. As with the four previous IGF events, the purpose of the meeting is to provide a space for multi-stakeholder political dialogue.
