Strategic use of the internet
Major international decisions are being made about the internet in the coming weeks – decisions that could affect the internet as we know it forever. This week the United Nations Human Rights Council will receive its first ever official report on freedom of expression online – and APC is helping deliver the message to the UN in Geneva.

Governments surveillance and filtration on the internet is increasing.
Thirty people, including participants, resource people and expert trainers, will participate in a two-day workshop in Kingston, Jamaica 22-23 February 2011.
In December 2010, APC member LaborNet held a conference at the University of San Francisco, which demonstrated how technology can be used by trade unions and the labor movement to gain access to information to strengthen their cause.
