APC firmly condemns the decision of the Brazilian Senate to dismiss President Dilma Rousseff. This decision deeply undermines the democratic system in Brazil, as well as the political stability and the development of progressive and inclusive policies for the country.
APC expresses its concern at the rapidly unfolding political events in Brazil which constitute an attack on democracy and due process. We express solidarity with the people of Brazil in general and in particular the many Brazilian civil society organisations we work with.
This study by APC and the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida) explores the potential that information and communication technologies (ICTs) have for advancing democracy and empowerment, with a special focus on Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
