Persatuan Kesedaran Komuniti Selangor (EMPOWER) is outraged and disappointed by the manner in which amendments to the Sedition Act 1948 and the Prevention of Terrorism Act were rushed through Parliament. Major pieces of legislation with far-reaching consequences should go through extensive consultation with all political parties, a broad spectrum of civil society organisations, and the general public.
