A medida que aumenta el desarrollo de las tecnologías de información y comunicación, también aumenta la demanda de ancho de banda. La necesidad de una mayor disponibilidad de infraestructura, equipamiento y conocimientos crecen paralelamente a los avances tecnológicos, desafiando a los países latinoamericanos y caribeños a zanjar la brecha digital.
