New web 2.0 and social media for development training modules now available online

APC has recently co-produced training materials on Web 2.0 and social media for development for the FAO Information Management Resource Kit (IMARK). This unit, along with others, is available for free online and in CD format on the project’s website.

The e-learning course on Web 2.0 and Social Media for Development focuses particularly social networking and social networking tools, and covers the following topics:

  • Social networking sites and communities
  • Issues and the future of social networking
  • Groupware and collaboration tools
  • RSS feeds and subscriptions
  • Tagging and bookmarking
  • Blogging and Microblogging
  • Online video and image sharing
  • Podcasting and online radio

The Spanish edition, which was developed by APC and translated by APC member Sulá Batsú has now also been released, and the French edition will also be released at a later time.
