Unimondo, Italian non-profit media network, joins APC

By APCNews JOHANNESBURG, South Africa,

Unimondo is an independent non-profit media network based in Padua, Northern Italy and founded in 1998. In 2003, Unimondo has more than 300 partners, most of which are small to medium non-profit organisations from the centre-north of Italy. They include environmental organisations, international solidarity NGOs, peace groups, women associations, and human rights advocacy campaigns.

Unimondo actively promotes campaigns with its partners and promotes awareness of global issues in their own content work. They are a leader of the Italian CRIS campaign, and work to reach a larger audience by working with the national RAI television channel to popularise social issues. In addition to their expertise in communication and e-campaigns, Unimondo also offers technical ICT services and free web hosting to Italian social organisations.

"Unimondo wants to be an APC member to work on common projects and campaigns, to reach, communicate and exchange with organisations and social movements worldwide," said Unimondo executive director, Jason Nardi. APC is delighted to welcome our first member in Italy. Unimondo joined APC in October.
